Aaloo Rawa Tikki from leftover Upma
The leftover Upma problem in India is very grave. Veg upma is made in abundance and as a result lot get left over. Don't worry and dont feel guilty. You can make amazing snacks with these leftover Upma. I made a much more healthy aaloo tikki chaat by incorporating the leftover upma in the tikki.
What do you need?
1) 2 boiled potatoes medium size
2) 2 bowl left over upma (1 cup upma for one medium size boiled potato)
3) Fresh coriander chopped
4) 2 green chillies chopped
5) 1 tbsp Garam masala, coriander powder and chaat masala
6) Salt and red chilli (optional)
7) Oil and flat pan for shallow fry

Steps to cook:
1) Mash the potatoes and mix the upma in a big mixing bowl
2) mix all the other ingredients in the bowl and mix with hand
3) take a little oil in hand an make flat patties or tikkis (2 inches in diameter)
4) heat oil in a pan and toss the tikkis and cook both sides till the become crisp and brown on the outside
How to eat these healthier tikkis:
Option 1: simply dunk it in tomato sauce or and curd dip
Option 2: Aaloo upma tikki chaat (which i prefer) Place tikki on a plate and put beaten curd on it, sweet tamarind chutney, garnish with bhujiya, fresh chopped coriander and pomegrenate. Add some black salt, chaat masaala and few drops on Lime on top and VOILA .. tasty aaloo tikki at home
