Slick as Bruschetta

Alright! There is a reason I call this Bruschetta slick.
It's efficient. Elegant. Simple yet classy . Can be made as quickly as 15 mins and with simple ingredients. Have it alone or lay it out for your friends at a party! You will have people rave about your fancy Italian food. (Ssshhh! bask in the pleasure cos your friends don't know its easy to cook)
It definitely makes for a stylish and munchable favorite at a party!

Ok! Enough bragging. So

What goes in?

  1. French bread loaf (you can easily get in a supermarket) and looks like this
Else you could go for a normal Multi-grain bread
  2. Fresh Basil- 50 gm
  3. Olive oil - 5tablespoon or more
  4. Onion - 1
  5. Red and Firm tomatoes -2
  6. Garlic - 15 cloves
  7. Salt, oregano and pepper

What do you have to do?

  1. If you have the loaf, cut long diagonal slices and toast the bread in the oven or any other way you want. I love oven toasted as its very crispy. Other way thAt comes close is tava (flat pan)toasted.
  2. Chop onions, garlic, tomatoes and basil leaves into small pieces.
  3. Mix them in a bowl with olive oil, salt and pepper
  4. Add oregano to the mix. If you have some rosemary toss in a little bit of that too.
  5. Now top the toasted breads with your mix and drizzle some olive oil or serve it with some olive oil mixed with chilli flakes

And poof! Just like that
You have a plate of bruschetta ready
Below pic of bruschetta once made with normal bread when I didn't get a baguette. Also look at my recipe of Mushroom Bruscetta. The one that's shown in the image. Also note the chilli olive oil for drizzling on top. DIG IN!
