Sticky Cheesy Rice

Want to make something other than fried rice or curd rice from that leftover rice. Try this sticky rice recipe. It is the rice equivalent of mac and cheese. You can make it with some veggies on the side or with some chicken grilled on the side. If you just want to eat this as a meal simply add some  veggies like broccoli, mushrooms etc. into this it directly. Then it becomes a close cousin of Risotto. 


What you need ?
  1. 2 cups of boiled rice 
  2. 1 or 2 medium onions Chopped  
  3. Garlic - 2 cloves/slice chopped
  4. No salt butter 2 spoons
  5. Bay leaf 1
  6. Milk 1cup
  7. Wheat flour - 2 spoons 
  8. Salt and coarsely crushed pepper
  9. Parsley - 2 spoons chopped
  10. Cheddar cheese 

What you need to do?
  1. In a pan heat butter and add bayleaf, garlic and onion till translucent 
  2. Add 2 spoons of wheat flour 
  3. Roast it till the onions are coated with wheat flour 
  4. Add milk,some salt and pepper to make a bechamel sauce 
  5. Fold in some grated cheddar cheese
  6. Add rice and parsley and mix
  7. Add some grated cheddar cheese on top and cover the lid for the cheese to melt
  8. Add a little chopped parsley on top for garnish 
Voila!!! Yummy sticky cheesy rice.. 
 .. mmm it was a good invention I must say. 
I had it with some roast chicken.
