Custard pancake with orange and honey

I enjoy eating and experimenting with pancakes. Recently when I was trying out a menu for my pop up event I created some custard pancakes and I really enjoyed this particular one. It’s fresh and healthy for morning breakfasts as it’s got orange which is so easily available during winters and honey.

So here goes..

What you need? (For 6 pancakes)

  1. 1 cups all purpose flour/maida
  2. 2 spoons custard powder
  3. 5  oranges
  4. 1 spoon baking powder ( I love to use digestives like ENO too. You can use orange flavoured or normal glucose flavoured eno)
  5. 1 egg
  6. 1 spoon powdered sugar
  7. 1 spoon salt (alter this depending on how salty you like you pancakes)
  8. 1 cup milk
  9. Powdered sugar for topping(optional)

What you need to do?

  1. Whisk all he ingredients above except the oranges for 5 mins and let us rest for 20 mins
  2. In a flat pan, put some oil and put one ladle of the batter and cover it till it rises and has air bubbles - 2 mins
  3. I usually flip and cook the other side too so you could do that but if you like to just Cook your pancakes from one side then remove after the 2nd step
  4. Peel oranges and remove the skins and seed completely.
  5. Drizzles honey on top of he pan cake and cover it with how many oranges you want
  6. Sprinkle powdered white sugar on top just to make it look even prettier (optional)
